-
Merit List Preparation: A common merit list will be prepared trade-wise. The merit will be calculated by taking the average of the percentage marks obtained in:
1. Matriculation (10th Class) (Minimum 50% aggregate marks required).
2. ITI (Industrial Training Institute) marks in the relevant trade. -
Calculation Formula:
Merit % = (Percentage in 10th + Percentage in ITI) / 2
Example: If a candidate has 80% in 10th and 90% in ITI.
Total = 80 + 90 = 170 / 2 = 85% (This will be your merit score). - Tie-Breaking Rule: In case of two candidates having the same marks, the candidate older in age will be preferred. If dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed the matriculation exam earlier will be considered first.
- Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates (1.5 times the vacancies) will be called for document verification in Kapurthala.
